The story

Partner. One hundred tabs. This is a collection now.

Twenty tabs is a busy afternoon. One hundred tabs is a way of being. It does not happen by accident. It happens because you kept deciding, one hundred separate times, that this one was worth keeping open too.

At one hundred, the browser stops helping you tell the tabs apart. The favicons collapse into slivers. You cannot read a single title. And yet you know, roughly, where things are. The research cluster is on the left. The shopping is in the middle somewhere. The thing you are actually supposed to be doing is, honestly, unclear.

This is exactly how Cache runs the Stash when it gets very full. He cannot see every item. He works from memory and intuition and a deep faith that it is all still there. You have reached the same level of operation. He considers you a peer now.

The turn: the world would call this a problem. Cache calls it conviction. One hundred open tabs is not chaos. It is a hundred things you refused to close, which is just the Stash instinct running at full volume inside a browser.

Reach one hundred tabs open at the same time. This takes commitment.

  1. Keep opening tabs with Ctrl+T and, crucially, stop closing them.
  2. Get to one hundred concurrent tabs. Cheevos counts them.

A few survival tips at this altitude. Most browsers now sleep inactive tabs automatically, so a hundred sleeping tabs use far less memory than a hundred active ones. You can search across all your open tabs in Firefox and Chrome by typing in the address bar and looking for the "Switch to Tab" option, which is the only realistic way to find anything at this scale.
