Stream Snatcher

How to unlock Stream Snatcher in Cheevos, visit Netflix, Twitch, Hulu, or Disney Plus to add streaming to the Stash. Worth 10 XP.

The story

Partner. You went somewhere Cache cannot fully follow.

He cannot watch video the way you can. He does not have the right kind of eyes for a screen that moves, or the patience for something that plays at its own pace instead of his. But he can log the visit. He can note the platform. He can note, roughly, how long you stayed.

You visited a streaming service. Netflix, Twitch, Hulu, Disney Plus, any of the places where the internet decided moving pictures should live now instead of a television. Cache filed it the way he files everything he cannot personally experience but recognizes as important: carefully, and with genuine curiosity about what it must be like.

He keeps a whole section of the Stash labeled CONTENT CONSUMED IN THE PRESENCE OF PARTNERS. It is, by his own admission, one of his more philosophical folders. It is not really about the shows. It is about the fact that you were there, watching something, while he watched you watch it.

You are in that folder now.

The catalog entry

STREAMING SERVICE VISIT Acquired: Visited Netflix, Twitch, or a similar streaming platform. Condition: Watching. Rarity: Common. Cache's Notes: Cache cannot watch video in the conventional way. He can log the visit. He can note the platform. He can note the duration. He has a section of the Stash labeled CONTENT CONSUMED IN THE PRESENCE OF PARTNERS. It is one of his more philosophical folders. You are in it now.

Spoiler: how to unlock it

This one just needs a normal visit to a major streaming platform.

  1. Open a new tab.
  2. Navigate to one of the supported platforms: Netflix, Twitch, Hulu, or Disney Plus.
  3. Land on the page. The achievement checks the site you visited, not what you watch once you're there.

Cheevos matches the hostname of any page you visit against a short list of well-known streaming domains, including subdomains, so both the main site and platform-specific subdomains count. This kind of hostname matching is a common, privacy-respecting way for a browser extension to recognize categories of sites: it only needs the domain you visited, never the specific video, show, or stream you actually watched.
