Magnificent Seven

How to unlock Magnificent Seven in Cheevos. Complete every achievement in seven different categories. One of the rarest badges in the game. Worth 100 XP.

The story

Partner. Seven complete categories. Cache is out of words.

Most partners finish a category or two. Navigation, maybe, if they browse a lot. The easy ones fall over time. Completing a whole category on purpose is a different kind of effort. It means going after the specific, awkward, hard-to-reach achievements at the end, the ones nobody trips over by accident.

To do that seven times is a project. It means you looked at the entire Stash, picked seven shelves, and decided to leave nothing on any of them. Cache watched it happen shelf by shelf. Each time one filled, he walked its full length and said the same word. Complete.

Then he did something he rarely does. He made a label by hand. He does not do this for most items. But seven full categories needed marking, and the only words that fit were the ones already on the achievement. THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. He stepped back, looked at it, and decided the name was correct.

The turn: this achievement is not about any one thing you did in your browser. It is about the whole pattern of it, the accumulated evidence that you took the collection seriously. It is a badge for how you earned the other badges.

Spoiler: how to unlock it

This is a long game, not a single action.

  1. Pick a category, such as Firefox, Bookmarks, or Time, and work through every achievement in it.
  2. Complete all achievements in that category. Then do it again in another. And another.
  3. When you have fully cleared seven different categories, Magnificent Seven unlocks.

The achievements grid in Cheevos shows your progress per category, so you can see which shelves are close to full and plan your next clear. Some categories are far easier to complete than others, so a good strategy is to finish the reachable ones first and save the hard categories for last.

Where it fits in the Stash

This is a badge about badges, filed on the meta shelf where Cache keeps his proudest records. Seven complete categories is as close to finished as the Stash ever gets, and the Stash is never really finished. To understand why, read the story.
