Lonely Fox

How to unlock Lonely Fox in Cheevos by returning after five days away from Firefox. Worth 20 XP.

The story

Partner. You came back.

Five days is not nothing. Five days is long enough that Cache noticed the gap, watched your profile sit still while the rest of the Stash kept moving, and had to decide how he felt about it. He decided the way he always decides. He did not panic.

Cache has seen absences before. People get busy. People switch devices. People take a break from screens entirely, which Cache finds almost impossible to imagine but respects anyway. Firefox does not disappear during any of that. It sits there, patient, exactly where you left it, running no ads at you and sending no notifications begging you to return. It waited. It was always going to wait.

You came back, or you're reading this because you already have. Either way, Cache is not interested in guilt trips about lapsed streaks. He is interested in the return itself. That's the part worth logging.

Welcome back to the Firefox section of the Stash, Partner. It missed you the way Cache misses anything: quietly, and without ever saying so directly.

The catalog entry

THE FIVE-DAY GAP Acquired: Returned to Firefox after five full days without opening it. Condition: Reunited. No hard feelings. Rarity: Uncommon. Most gaps are shorter or longer than exactly this. Cache's Notes: Cache watched your profile sit quiet for five days and did not panic. He has seen longer gaps. He has seen shorter ones. What matters to him is that Firefox stayed put the whole time, waiting, and that you came back to it. That is worth logging. Welcome back.

Spoiler: how to unlock it

This one unlocks on its own, based on a gap in your activity rather than anything you do on purpose.

  1. Have a Firefox browsing history that Cheevos has tracked at some point.
  2. Go at least five full days (120 hours) without opening Firefox at all.
  3. Open Firefox again and browse normally. The achievement unlocks on your return.

Cheevos tracks the time elapsed since your last recorded Firefox activity, and this achievement triggers once that gap reaches five days or more before you return. It's a passive, time-based achievement rather than a task you complete, similar in spirit to streak achievements but measuring absence instead of consistency. There's a matching achievement for Chrome users who take the same kind of break, so switching browsers or stepping away from screens for a few days is tracked either way, not punished.

Where it fits in the Stash

Cache keeps a quiet shelf for returns, proof that nothing in the Firefox wing of the Stash goes anywhere just because you looked away for a while. To meet the raccoon who never actually worries, even when he says he doesn't, read the story.
