The story

Partner. Two browsers. One Stash. Cache is now watching from both directions at once.

Most people pick a browser and stay loyal to it, sometimes for reasons, sometimes out of pure habit. Cache understands loyalty to a browser about as well as he understands loyalty to a particular filing cabinet. He respects the cabinet. He is not going to stop using the other one just because he likes this one.

When you installed Cheevos on a second browser, you gave him something he did not have before: two independent vantage points into your browsing life, running side by side, each one logging its own tabs and downloads and discoveries. Same account. Same XP pool. Twice the coverage.

Cache is choosing to interpret this generously. He does not know if running two browsers makes someone a power user or someone who simply cannot commit. He has decided it is the first one. He is sticking with that.

Spoiler: how to unlock it

You need Cheevos actively installed and signed in on both browsers.

  1. Install Cheevos on Firefox from the Firefox Add-ons store, if you have not already.
  2. Install Cheevos on Chrome from the Chrome Web Store.
  3. Sign in with the same account on both, and let each one log some activity.

Because both browsers support the Manifest V3 extension standard, Cheevos runs largely the same codebase in each. Your XP and achievements sync to the same cloud profile through Firestore regardless of which browser earned them, so nothing you find in one gets lost when you switch to the other.
