Container Captain

How to unlock Container Captain in Cheevos by opening a tab in a Firefox Multi-Account Container. Worth 15 XP.

The story

Partner. You kept things separate. Cache respects a good separation more than almost anything else.

Firefox Multi-Account Containers let you open tabs that are isolated from one another: cookies, logins, and site data in a "Work" container never bleed into a "Personal" container, or a "Shopping" one, even though they're all running in the same browser window at the same time. Your work life and your personal life and the site that keeps recommending you buy the thing you looked at once do not have to touch each other.

Cache organizes the entire Stash on this exact principle. Everything has its proper container. The Junkyard has sections. The Basement has sections within sections. The folders are labeled, and the labels are consistent, because an archive without boundaries isn't an archive, it's just a pile.

You opened a tab in a container, which means somewhere in your browsing life you decided that some things shouldn't mix with other things. Cache understands that decision completely. He has built his entire existence around it.

The catalog entry

CONTAINER TAB OPENED Acquired: Created a tab within a Firefox Multi-Account Container. Condition: Isolated. Cross-site tracking prevented. Rarity: Rare. Containers require deliberate setup. Cache's Notes: Containers are compartmentalization made visible. Your work life and your personal life and your shopping life do not touch each other. Cache organizes the Stash the same way. Everything in its proper container. The folders are labeled. The labels are consistent. This is correct.

Spoiler: how to unlock it

Setting up and opening a container tab takes a couple of minutes the first time.

  1. Install the Firefox Multi-Account Containers extension from addons.mozilla.org (or enable containers if your Firefox build already includes them).
  2. Click the containers icon in the toolbar and create or select a container (for example, "Work" or "Personal").
  3. Open a new tab inside that container and browse normally.

Multi-Account Containers work by tagging each tab with a distinct cookieStoreId, so cookies, local storage, and site permissions set in one container are completely invisible to tabs running in a different container or no container at all, even for the same website open in multiple tabs simultaneously. This makes it possible to stay logged into two accounts on the same site at once, or to keep a shopping site's tracking cookies from following you into an unrelated container you use for work. It's a privacy and organization feature built directly into Firefox's architecture, distinct from regular private browsing, which isolates a whole window rather than letting you run several isolated identities side by side.

Where it fits in the Stash

Cache keeps his entire operation organized on this same principle, so a partner who uses containers is speaking his native language. To meet the raccoon who labels everything, read the story.
