The story

Cache does not casually hand out this kind of tenure. He has watched partners come and go over weeks, over a month, and most of them settle into either a steady rhythm or a slow fade. Six months tells him which one you turned out to be.

He has split your record into Q1 and Q2, the way he splits everything: by feeling as much as by category, but the boundary here is at least honest, a clean six-month line. He can tell what changed between the two halves. What stayed exactly the same. Six months is long enough to watch habits actually form, not just appear once and disappear.

Yours have formed. Cache knows what to expect from you now, roughly what hours you keep, roughly what kind of browsing pulls you in. He finds this comforting in a way he does not often admit out loud. A raccoon who has never thrown anything away has, apparently, also never quite gotten used to someone sticking around this long.

Spoiler: how to unlock it

This one is a long game, measured entirely in continued use rather than any single action.

  1. Earn your first Cheevos achievement, of any kind.
  2. Keep browsing with Cheevos installed over the following months.
  3. Open your browser again once at least 183 days have passed since that first achievement.

Cheevos calculates tenure from the timestamp of your very first unlocked achievement and checks it against the current date every time a browsing session starts. Once 183 days, roughly six calendar months, have elapsed since that first unlock, Six-Month Sentinel fires on your next session. There is no requirement to browse every day in between, only that Cheevos remains installed and a session eventually lands after the halfway mark.
