Nobody came back for most of these. The files just sat there, waiting, the way half-finished things do. Cache kept every one he found. He has a theory about this: unfinished creative work is still creative work. The attempt matters whether or not it ever becomes a finished thing. A first draft has already done something a blank page has not.
