AFK
How to unlock AFK in Cheevos, step away from your browser until it goes idle and let Cache keep watch. Worth 5 XP.
The story
Partner. You left. Cache did not.
He does not take breaks himself. He cannot, exactly. There is always something in the junkyard that needs sorting, some cable that needs untangling, some label that needs rewriting in slightly better handwriting. But he understands the concept of stepping away. He has watched you do it enough times to respect it.
You walked away from your keyboard. Maybe for coffee. Maybe for a phone call. Maybe you just forgot the browser was open and went to go do something else entirely. Cache does not need to know which. He noticed the moment your browser went quiet: no clicks, no scrolling, no typing. Idle.
And here is the part Cache finds meaningful. Everything you had open stayed exactly where you left it. The tabs did not scatter. The Stash did not close its doors and go home. It waited, the same way it always waits, for you to come back and pick up exactly where you stopped.
Nothing falls through the cache. Not your tabs, and not this achievement either.
The catalog entry
THE WAITING ROOM Acquired: Left the browser idle long enough for it to notice. Condition: Paused, not gone. Rarity: Common. Everyone steps away eventually. Cache's Notes: You stepped away. The browser waited. Everything you had open was still there when you came back. The Stash works the same way. Waiting. Ready. Nothing falls through the cache.
Spoiler: how to unlock it
This is the easiest one in the whole Stash. You do not have to do anything at all.
- Have Cheevos running with the browser open.
- Step away from your keyboard and mouse.
- Wait about a minute without touching anything.
Firefox and Chrome both ship a built-in idle detection API that extensions can subscribe to. Cheevos sets its detection interval to 60 seconds, the minimum the browser allows, and listens for the moment your system reports you as idle. As soon as that idle signal fires, the achievement unlocks. You do not need to close anything or navigate anywhere. You just need to stop, briefly, which is a skill worth having regardless of the XP.
Where it fits in the Stash
Idle time gets its own quiet corner of the Stash, right beside the tenure archives that track how long you have stuck around week over week. Stepping away turns out to matter as much as showing up. For the whole story of the raccoon keeping watch while you are gone, read the story.
